"Get off of me, you stupid furball!" Blazepaw meowed affectionately, pushing Rockpaw off. "How was your training with mother? What did you tell her about us?" she questioned, her eyes getting wide and serious. Sitting down, she ran her paw over her head, waiting for an answer. I hope.. I hope she was okay with it..

Rockpaw sat down beside her, licking his chest. He watched the patrol continue through the trees. "She said I'd better not hurt you," Rockpaw looked her in the eye and then licked the top of her head,"And I won't." Rockpaw sat there with his pelt brushing hers. "We need to get herbs and hunt," Rockpaw told her.

"I know you won't hurt me.. and I won't hurt you.. we're.. perfect," Blazepaw whispered, staring into his golden eyes. "You're right; we do need to hunt," she meowed after some time. "C'mon!" she teased, "Catch me if you can!" Blazepaw jumped into the stream, her ginger fur pressing hard against her body. She started pawing at the water, and was soon swimming confidently across the stream.

Rockpaw followed, a little more hesitantly. His long fur held the water, even long after he had left the stream. He jumped up onto the other side, and scented the air. He broke away from Blazepaw, and followed a rabbit's scent. Rockapw crouched, adn padded forward, his fur sticking to his body. He saw the rabbit, but it didn't see him. Rockpaw pounced on the rabbit, and smiled as it became his prey. He drug it back to Blazepaw. "Top that!" Rockpaw taunted.

"Watch me!" Blazepaw retorted, opening her mouth for the scent of prey. She had smelled a sparrow, preaning its feathers in a tree by the water. It was on a low branch, paying attention to everything but Blazepaw. Perfect. She crouched low, setting her paws lightly on the mix of mud and grass that surrounded the stream. Blazepaw crept up slowly, and stood there for a second, ears pricked. In a brief second, she started at it again, and lifted her tail slightly for balance. Though it was on a low branch, she was still short; Blazepaw would have to use all her muscles to support her leap. In a flash, she jumped, and was scrambling for the sparrow's throat. Instead, she had landed on the branch, being too short to reach it. Pawing at the branch, she leapt on the sparrow, but it had already taken flight by her slip. Blazepaw hung on, and eventually the sparrow fell to the ground, with Blazepaw on its back. "Got you!" she meowed triumphantly, sinking her teeth into it's throat.
